Coincidence or Marketing Ploy?

Lost Planet dropped on Friday... oh yes! And in a remarkable coincidence it snowed the day before, prompting from me (someone who had pre-ordered the game before Xmas) to whine because I had nothing to play. Strangely it was snowing before and after the release of the game, I think that Capcom could have a weather making machine, and the marketing people are using it!

Friday rolls about, we're in the store at 10am, yeah yeah we've pre-ordered; but in this World it means next to nothing! We have pre-ordered and therefore we should be guaranteed a copy of the game but, EB Games only recruits dumb Nazi's to staff its stores, so its always best to be on the safe side.

We fight the hordes of people (all three of em (two being the staff)) and get our grubby mitts on the game. Work ensues. Beer ensues, I get home and two bottles of red wine ensue. Aswell as a snowboundchristmasadventurewithgunsandrobots... for five hours.

About 7 hours of gameplay later the Campaign mode on normal is done. I'm seemingly out of games to play again.. or am I? I jumped onto Live last night and then played for almost as much time as I invested in the single player on multiplayer. Rest assured there are crackheads and rednecks and redneck crackheads abound, but they are all new to the game seemingly they are liking the white stuff the inhabits the game World and they all seemed to be sober... so it was a fair(ish) fight.

So far myself and my redneck co-horts have had some downtothewire battles, crazy shit blowing up everywhere, people dying, swearing, dying somemore, swearing some more and having a ripe old time.

Of course I have found a NEW breed! (And we're not talking about the Akrid whom play your main protagonist in your little snow adventure) NO! We're talking about the 40ish Englishman that has got a 360 for Xmas!! Ho ho what bigoted mother fuckers this bunch is, happy to be living life (it seems) but even more happy to be talking to people that speak English. Ah X box Live, you bring out the worst in people :) The war is over people, ship everyone back from the Gulf, its party's moved, it's now on Xbox Live....

This of course brings me back to the point of this post, it snowed again last night, the first real snow of the year... 15cm in a day. The town seems to have been taken by surprise and its all white and pretty (for a day til it melts and turns to shit) and seems to be nice and slow.. ho hum, looks like i'll get to snowboard this weekend :)
